With 288 parishes in 120 cities throughout 3 counties, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is one of the largest property holders in the region. We have been providing environmental consultting servcies to the Church since we opened our doors in April 1993.
Since 1999, we have been the primary environmental consultant for renovations to the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. In addition to the many small scale projects associated with maintenance of a facility of this magnitude, we have also coordinated large abatement operations associated with the ER expansion and the connection of the new Miller Children's Hospital.
Our experience with Pasadena Water and Power dates back to 1998, when we were contracted to perform an asbestos and lead-based paint survey of the Glenarm Power Plant. We successfully managed several large abatement projects at the Glenarm including seismic upgrades, demolition of the old tank farm and other various assessments. When the Art Center College of Design leased the property, we were retained to manage the entire abatement project. Due to changing circumstances, the majority of the work never took place. We have provided assistance to Pasadena Water and Power in helping to determine potential abatement options and cost schedules with the proposed reuse of the site.
In 2007, we were awarded a contract to carry out a comprehensive hazardous building materials survey of the Broadway Units B-1 and B-2. We continue to monitor abatement projects at these facilites and look forward to assisting the City of Pasadena with their re-powering operations.
The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) was established for the purpose of stabilizing communities that have suffered from foreclosures and abandonment. Through the purchase and redevelopment of foreclosed and abandoned homes and residential properties, the goal of the program is being realized. We have worked with developers, in conjunction with HUD to provide testing services on over 300 properties affiliated with the program.
